SYNOPSIS / Editorial Review about - Royal Tramp (1-2) [DTS]
Royal Tramp Showboy may be uneducated, poor, foul in language and the son of a prostitute. But he has tact and ambition. One night he saves Chinese partisans from the ruling Manchus led by Prince Aobai. He joins the partisan group and is ordered to infiltrate the Manchu palace. In the process, he almost gets himself castrated.
Somehow, he becomes a friend and confidant of the boy emperor Kang His, as well as the lover of Kang His's sister. So the two young men plot to kill Prince Aobai. The plot fails miserably. Showboy is saved by the queen mother who captures Aobai but gives Showboy the credit. Showboy becomes a high Manchu official. But the partisans are after him to kill the emperor while queen mother is pressing him to reveal the darkest secrets of the Manchu. In a rage, she throws Showboy into the prison, next to a vengeful Aobai......
